Sara’s Chili Chowder

for the slow cooker
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 medium to large onions, diced
  • 2 lbs. ground turkey (or beef)
  • 2 cans (15.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15.5 oz. each) chili beans
  • 2 cans (15.5 oz. each) pork & beans
  • 1 8 oz. can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can kennel corn
  • 1/4 cup chili powder, add more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder, or to taste
  1. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium high heat.  Cook onions for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until nicely browned. Crumble in turkey; cook for 8-10 minutes until cooked through.
  2. Throw everything in a 6 quart slow cooker; stir.  Cook for 4 hours on high or 7 hours on low.
  3. Enjoy!!!

Notes ~ If your intended audience like spicy, feel free to add jalapeno, more chili powder, or cayenne powder.
