- butter, for buttering the baking dish
- 3 slices of country white bread, cut into cubes
- 6 eggs
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cubed cooked ham
- 1/2 milk
- 4 scallions
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Trim scallions of roots and finely slice. Separate white and green parts
- Butter a pie dish. Spread out bread cubes around the dish.
- In a large bowl, beat to combine the eggs, heavy cream, cheese, ham, milk, white scallions, salt, and pepper. Pour into pie dish over bread cubes.
- Sprinkle paprika on top.
- Cook for 45 -60 minutes until firm. Sprinkle with green scallions and serve.
Notes: For company, double recipe and put in large baking dish. Good to make the night before. Cover and refrigerate. Add extra time to cook.
