Grandma Kate had a set menu with soup on Monday (chicken with dumplings, lentil, oxtail…) and spaghetti every Thursday and Sunday. She baked homemade bread in a brick oven in the basement. She served fresh goat’s milk. Grandpa Len didn’t like halibut on fish night. Grandma didn’t eat until everyone else was done.
