Grandma Lottie’s and Aunt Kristin’s Pot Roast

for the slow cooker
  • 1 pot roast (or round steak)
  • A-1 Sauce
  • 1 or 2 pkg. dry onion soup
  • 1/2 to 1 cup water
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (optional)
  1. Rub A-1 sauce on both sides of beef. Put in roasting pan lined with foil.
  2. Sprinkle dry onion soup on top of beef. Add water around sides of beef.
  3. If you like, add 1 can cream of mushroom soup on top of that. 
  4. Cover with foil and be sure to roll the top foil meeting the bottom foil and fold over together and seal. 
  5. Bake at 400 degrees until tender. 
  6. Open foil gently after 1 or 1-1/2 hours. Beef should be very tender about ready to fall apart when done.
