- 2 Cups White Sugar
- 1 3/4 Cup White Corn Syrup
- 1 1/2 Cups Butter
- 1 Cup Whipping Cream
- 1 Cup Evaporated Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Vanilla
- Parchment paper
- Put on your favorite Christmas music. Gather all of the ingredients and prepare for 45-60 minutes of good memories.
- Mix the evaporated milk and cream into a bowl. Set aside.
- Melt butter in a large thick bottomed pan. Add Sugar, corn syrup and half of the cream/evaporated milk mixture. Heat stirring mixture constantly until boiling and sugar is dissolved.
- Then add remaining cream/evaporated milk mixture, and cook string constantly until 240 degree soft ball stage on a candy thermometer.
- Don’t rush this process by turning up the heat too high. Did I mention stir constantly? It makes all the difference! Remove from heat.
- Add vanilla and stir. Pour in a 9×13 pan. Let cool a couple hours or until set. Cut into small pieces and wrap in parchment paper. Scrumptious, if I say so myself! 🙂 Enjoy!!
