
Dough:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/8 cups oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
Almond glaze:
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 T. butter
OR Lemon glaze
- 1 C. Confectioner’s sugar
- 3 T. fresh squeezed lemon juice
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour bread pans.
- Mix all ingredients until blended.
- Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- While still hot, pour on glaze.
- Cool in pans for ½ hour and remove.
