- 9 cups flour
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 2 t. salt
- 2 t. baking soda
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 qt. buttermilk (4 C.)
- Raisins (optional)
Bread
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Cut in butter.
- Beat eggs; add to buttermilk.
- Combine all.
- Add raisins.
- Grease and flour bread pans (3-4)
- Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour
Frosting
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- Bring to a boil.
- Glaze over baked bread while hot.
